No-SewWool Diaper Covers |
 |
|
I use lightweight 100% wool sweaters from the thrift store -- large men's sweaters -- usually merino or cashmere.
I
lay the sweater flat, fold in half from neckline to waistline, so the
fold is at the right and there are four layers. I lay a prefold on top
for measuring, and cut straight across the top above the prefold -- so
that I have a rectangle the a littler longer than the length of the prefold.
I just cut
it -- I don't serge or hem or anything. Only one (of the 8 sweaters I
have used for this) has frayed at all -- and I think that's because it
had never ever been worn or
washed at all (yes, brand new at the thrift store). So, from now on, I will be sure to at least hand wash
first, to felt it up just a teeny tiny bit. Not that I need any more --
but, you know, for gifts and such. I LOVE these.

I can change him in the middle of the night without sitting up -- important for me because
we EC and I have bad arthritis. I can lay on my back with my knees
bent, feet near my butt, and put him on my lap, his back on my thighs,
his head near my knees, open the wrap, change the insert, tie the wrap
back closed. Easy peesy.

You are a Master Babywearer |
 |
|
In China, it is said that "A master is anyone who knows more than you do." So, you are all master babywearers compared with most of the moms in the world. You do NOT need to know everything there is to know about babywearing -- if you know even ONE carry with even ONE type of carrier, you are in possession of knowledge other moms desperately want -- even if they do not yet know they want it. ;-D Therefore, you should all feel confident enough to teach others! So, pick a public place, pick a day of the week, and start sharing your skills with other families! Then, list yourself here.
