The Goal |

When I started this, my husband asked me "What's your goal? How will you know when The Mamatoto Project has succeeded?" I said those are two separate things. We will have succeeded if even one less baby is left to cry alone and even one less mama is frustrated to tears at the conflict between caring for her baby and taking care of all of her other responsibilities. But, the goal, the finish line, the thing I have to do before I can stop, is to make sure every single person on planet Earth knows how and why to wear a baby. I think that's totally do-able, don't you?

actually puts them at ease that I am not trying to sell them anything,

Don't despair! Your "target audience" is EVERYWHERE!
The Mamatoto Project is NOT about sharing babywearing with mothers who have little ones in tow. It is about sharing babywearing with EVERYONE. The UPS man, the newspaper delivery boy, the 50 year old cashier at the grocery store, etc. All of these people know people who have babies or grandbabies or nieces and nephews or pregnant coworkers etc.
Also, you can talk to midwives, postpartum nurses, pediatrician's nurses, child birth educators, etc.

You are a Master Babywearer |
|
|
In China, it is said that "A master is anyone who knows more than you do." So, you are all master babywearers compared with most of the moms in the world. You do NOT need to know everything there is to know about babywearing -- if you know even ONE carry with even ONE type of carrier, you are in possession of knowledge other moms desperately want -- even if they do not yet know they want it. ;-D Therefore, you should all feel confident enough to teach others! So, pick a public place, pick a day of the week, and start sharing your skills with other families! Then, list yourself here.
